• MXA PHOTO OF THE WEEK!

MXA test rider Josh Fout was all loaded up and ready to race at Glen Helen this past weekend, but when he came out to get in his van, it was covered with three feet of snow. However, that didn’t matter because all the highways from his house to Glen Helen were closed and the race was cancelled. Josh will never complain again when it is 106 degrees at Glen Helen.

• PASHA TO PAY $17,000 AT THE 2023 WORLD TWO-STROKE CHAMPIONSHIP ON APRIL 8

Hollywood actor Pasha Afshar is a man on a mission to bring two-stroke racing back into vogue. He posts thousands of dollars of his own money for his Pasha 125 Open race series and at the World Two-Stroke and World Vet Championships.  

The 2023 World Two-Stroke Championship will hold it’s 13th Annual event at Glen Helen Raceway on Saturday, April 8. It will have all the regular classes for Novices, Intermediates and Experts, but the highlight of the event are three special classes hosted by Pasha Afshar. The three classes are the Pasha 125 Open Pro class, the Over-30 Pasha 125 Open Pro class and the Over-50 125 Open Pro class (please note that max displacement is 150cc).

In the 2022 World Two-Stroke Championship, Justin Hoeft was first in the 125 Pros and second in the Open Pros.

MXA’s Josh Mosiman was second in the 125 Pros and fifth in the Open Pros in 2022. 

Pasha will be paying $17,000—with the top three in the 125 Pro class paying $2500 for first, $1500 for second and $1000 for third—plus, in the Over-30 and Over-50 125 Pro classes, fourth place will receive a $500 dollar service credit from N2D in addition to the $2500 for first, $1500 for second and $1000 for third. But, that’s not all folks, Diamond Construction is sponsoring $150 holeshot money in all 6 Pasha 125 Pro starts. There will also be give-aways of Hoosier tires, Lectron carbs, ETS race fuel, t-shirts, hats and much much more.

In 2022 Mike Alessi (800) suffered a horrible crash in the second Open Pro moto, but came back an hour later to go 1-1 in the Pasha Over-30 125 Pro class.

How could anyone forget this Mike Alessi crash sequence. He not only walked away, but he came back later to win the Over-30 125 Pro class.

Former GP racer Kurt Nicoll won the Over-50 125 Pro class in 2022. In 2023 that first place will pay $2500.

And, the 2023 Premier Open Pro class, which is not part of the Pasha 125 Open program, and is open to any size two-stroke, will have an $8000 purse put up by Wiseco and Fasthouse. It will pay $2700 to first, $1200 to second, $1100 to third, $800 to fourth, $600 to fifth, $500 to sixth (with $400, $300, $200 and $150 down to tenth place).
