The 2023 Supercross/Motocross season has come to an end with the biggest payday in the sport’s history—thanks to a massive infusion of cash that ended up earning Jett Lawrence $1 million dollars, plus Ken Roczen and 250 winner Haiden Deegan a half million each.

Jett Lawrence and Haiden Deegan more than deserves all the adulations that the fans are heaping on them but there was heartbreak in the offing also. Justin Barcia crashed very hard in the first 450 moto while out front, and brought out a Red Flag and a staggered restart, which led eventually to a brutal sand explosion of a crash by the-leader Chase Sexton. 250 favorite Hunter Lawrence was crushed when a Friday crash in practice forced him to sit out the 250 finals. Dylan Ferrandis only made it to the first turn of the first 450 moto before being involved in a multi-bike crash that ended his season, although he still manage to earn $150,000 in overall points fund money. Ken Roczen’s fairytale year (from no ride to selecting to race a Suzuki to a thrilling the career revival,) was ruined by a lapper who blocked Ken in the closing laps of the SuperMotocross 450 Final, just as he was making another heroic charge on Jett Lawrence.

All in all, it was one of the books…the check books.
